Work Smarter, Not Harder: Elevate Your Team With AI Agents

In the AI world, the term agent often refers to a piece of software that can perform tasks autonomously or semi-autonomously. Unlike generative AIs like ChatGPT, agents don’t typically require user input after they are set up. Instead, these AIs will do what is set out for them, performing tasks on behalf of a user or system. This autonomy is revolutionary across industries. Every job has a section of it, whether large or small, that requires some amount of busywork. With the growth and implementation of these agents, we’ll see a decline in this busywork.

What Does An Agent Do?

The list of tasks that agents are doing these days is growing rapidly. Some of the most common tasks for agents are sending emails and scheduling meetings, administrative tasks that can now be done without involving personnel. Agent expert Josh Bersin speculates that there is room for growth in the corporate training field. This 300 million dollar industry is the perfect place for AI agents. Bersin specifically points to the creation of training courses, a task that can often take people months to compile. He argues that agents will be able to shorten this compilation time from months to days, vastly increasing the flexibility and reactivity of the corporate training industry.

Agents are also used in the hiring process, from screening resumes to matching candidates with jobs. They’ve found a lot of success in this field by giving candidates a score based on their application and matching each person’s unique experience with a job looking for those particular hard and soft skills. With agents automating these repetitive tasks, people are free to focus more on creative pursuits.

Implementing AI As A Force Multiplier

Agents go a long way in reducing the amount of busywork that people are required to do, meaning people working with these agents have a lot more time for endeavors requiring creativity and strategic thinking. In fact, in a Freshworks survey, they discovered that nearly all employees were using the additional time for other important pursuits. These included coaching other employees, focusing on work with more creativity or complexity, and even just simply boosting their productivity through the use of agents.

This data shows something crucial: proven results. When companies implement AI agents to help their workforce, they see a return on their investment 98% of the time. That is an astounding rate of success in the statistical world, which just goes to show how impactful these agents have been when properly implemented.

Why Supercharged Agents Win

One of the largest discussions around AI and its implementation has been automation, specifically automation to a level that replaces jobs. There is a lot of fear that AI will reach a level that turns certain professions into relics of the past. What this implementation of AI agents has shown us is that it’s not a question of replacement or taking jobs. Instead, agents should be thought of as something that can be used collaboratively with current employees to boost productivity and reduce time spent on mundane tasks.

Working With AI

Imagine a workforce where no one needs to set up their schedule. Instead, everyone uses an agent to help organize meetings, set aside time for individual work, and even communicate with other agents to help people know what other people are doing. A workplace with that system in place will be miles ahead of any other company in a position of competition. The implementation of AI agents alongside the workforce is going to be the next big step across all industries.
